CONCERT: The Summer GatheringFriday 8 December, 7pm - 9pmA musical soiree to celebrate our community and the year that's been

Join us at Peach Black Gallery for The Summer Gathering on Friday, December 8th at 7.00pm. It’s an end-of-year celebration where we come together to celebrate our community, the spirit of Christmas, and the diverse art forms that bring us together.

Renowned classical guitarist Simon Powis returns to Peach Black after his sold out concert earlier in the year. He will lead the evening with a program of unexpected musical pairings, bringing together unusual yet beautiful combinations, making for a delightfully curious musical event to close the year at Peach Black Gallery. Plus, we’ll add a touch of the season with a few Christmas carols in the mix.

Powis’s impressive soloist career has seen him grace stages such as the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Australia House in London, and the Banff Center for the Arts in Canada. He’s equally dedicated to chamber music, collaborating internationally with both traditional ensembles and unconventional pairings, including double bass, electronics, and the tuba. His commitment to innovation is evident in his devotion to performing new works, having premiered over thirty compositions in recent years.

This event also serves as a special fundraiser for Peach Black’s 2024 concert program. Being a small, independent gallery, our concerts rely on the dedication of many passionate individuals. The proceeds from tickets sold will go a long way in supporting crucial but sometimes overlooked aspects, including equipment rentals and music licenses, while also ensuring our artists are paid for their wonderful performances.

Don’t miss The Summer Gathering at Peach Black Gallery, a fusion of art, music, and community spirit, as we bid farewell to the year in style. Your support makes a world of difference for our future concerts. See you on December 8th!
