Join award-winning artist Matteo Bernasconi for an exciting 5-week journey into the world of Watercolour Painting!
The watercolour 5-day course is an immersive and comprehensive course designed to explore the beautiful world of watercolour painting.
In this collaborative learning experience, Matteo will share his extensive knowledge and passion for watercolours. Each session will be a blend of theory, engaging demonstrations, and individual projects.
Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to share and reflect on your work with fellow participants, creating a supportive and inspiring atmosphere.
Throughout the course, we’ll explore both landscape and figurative painting, covering a new topic each week. From mastering essential techniques to developing your observation skills, you’ll build a solid foundation in watercolour fundamentals that can be applied across various painting styles.

Topics covered
Over the course of five days, participants will dive into various techniques, and creative approaches
Day 1: Foundations of Watercolour
Participants will learn the fundamental techniques of watercolour, including brushwork, washes, and colour mixing. They will also explore the properties of different types of watercolour paper, paints and brushes.
Day 2: Landscape Painting
Focusing on landscapes, participants will learn how to capture the essence of nature using watercolour. We will also talk about composition and how to create depth in a painting.
Day 3: Composition
We will delve into composition and other important tools. We will explore diverse methods, engaging examples, and problem-solving techniques to make your artwork more captivating and compelling.
Day 4: Portraiture and Figure Painting
This day will be dedicated to portraiture and figure painting. Participants will learn how to portray the human form. They will study techniques for achieving skin tones and conveying emotion in their paintings.
Day 5: Experimental Techniques and Personal Style – Portraiture and Figure
On the final day, participants will have the opportunity to explore experimental techniques. They will be encouraged to push the boundaries of traditional watercolour and create expressive, unconventional artworks.
Participants will be able to share their experiences and learn from each other. At the end of the day, they will have a better understanding of the potential of watercolour painting.
Throughout the course, participants will receive guidance and feedback from the instructor, participate in demonstrations, and practice painting. This five-day course will teach participants how to paint with watercolours and help them develop their own artistic voice.

Whether you’re a beginner dipping your brush into the world of painting or an intermediate artist looking to further develop your skills and artistic style, this workshop has got you covered. You will be followed individually with one-to-one demonstrations to be sure I teach you exactly at the level you need.
To ensure an enriching and enjoyable experience, we’re limiting the number of participants to a maximum of 10 people. This allows us to give individual attention to each participant and create a nurturing environment where everyone can thrive.
